Overview

Every action in dbdeux is automatically captured in the audit log:

  • User logins and session activity
  • Connection creation, modification, and deletion
  • Project and environment changes
  • Run executions and their outcomes
  • Permission and role changes
  • Notification configuration updates
  • Scheduled job modifications

Viewing the Audit Log

Navigate to Settings and select the Audit Log tab. The interface provides three scope levels:

Organization Scope

All events across every project and user in your organization. Use this for:

  • Security investigations
  • Compliance reporting
  • Understanding overall platform usage

Project Scope

Events filtered to a specific project. Use this for:

  • Debugging issues within a project
  • Reviewing who changed what before a failure
  • Project-level access reviews

User Scope

Events filtered to a specific team member. Use this for:

  • Individual activity review
  • Onboarding verification
  • Access pattern analysis

Filtering

Narrow down events with powerful filters:

FilterOptions
Date rangeCustom start and end dates
Event typeLogin, run, config change, permission change, etc.
UserFilter by specific team member
ProjectFilter by specific project
StatusSuccess, failure, or all

Event Details

Each audit entry includes:

  • Timestamp with timezone
  • Actor (which user performed the action)
  • Action (what they did), shown in plain language so an entry reads like "environment variable update" rather than a raw internal code
  • Resource (what was affected)
  • Result (success or failure)
  • Metadata (additional context)

Retention

Audit logs are retained according to your organization's configuration:

  • Default retention: 12 months
  • Configurable via the retention settings drawer
  • Logs can be exported before expiration for long-term archival
  • Retention policies apply uniformly across all event types

Compliance

The Audit Log supports compliance requirements including:

  • SOC 2: Complete activity logging with tamper-evident records
  • GDPR: Track data access and modifications for privacy compliance
  • Internal audits: Provide evidence of access controls and change management
  • Incident response: Trace the sequence of events leading to an issue
